An accomplished clarinetist as an active soloist and chamber musician, David has worked with some of the most sought after teachers in the world, including Alan R. Kay, Ricardo Morales, Naomi and Stanley Drucker, and David Sapadin. He began his clarinet studies at Mannes College’s Preparatory Division and continued through his undergraduate studies at Stony Brook University.

 

David has performed in such venues as David Geffen Hall (then, Avery Fisher Hall), the Rose Studio at Lincoln Center, and the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the New York Baryshnikov Arts Center, as well as at the Staller Center for the Arts. He is, in addition to voice, a National YoungArts Foundation winner for clarinet.

 

He is the founder and sole author of THE Clarinet Blog, a blog dedicated to the happenings of the clarinet world, as well as thoughts regarding clarinet repertoire and equipment. Since its founding in 2010, THE Clarinet Blog has become one of the most widely read woodwind blogs in the world.

 

David is a proud Backun Artist and plays a set of cocobolo-gold MoBa clarinets. He currently teaches on a limited basis in the Stony Brook/Three Village area and the North Shore of Long Island (contact for information).
